Taking the friction out of home improvement

Home improvement is complex. Most home improvement projects require a fundamental understanding of the space in your home – before you even get started.

And if you’re like us, much of the critical info about your home is all over the place, written down and stashed in a folder, or simply not existent. We’re building a future that leverages the rise of emerging technologies like LiDAR, computer vision, AI, and mixed reality hardware: technologies that will not only sense and understand your home’s space, but will also put all of that data into your hands in useful ways whenever you need it, wherever you are.

Plan, visualize and shop for your home - right from your couch

Our vision is a future in which an entire home improvement journey – from getting inspired to getting an estimate to completing a project – can be done in one end-to-end experience that knows you and knows your actual space. Spatial commerce is our way of describing this future, and we’re taking steps along that journey today.

Coming Soon:

Measure Your Space

Lowe’s is bringing spatial commerce to our customers very soon – starting with a new experience in Lowe’s mobile app for iOS.

Launching as a public beta within the Lowe’s app before the end of Q1 2022, Measure Your Space leverages LiDAR Scanner-equipped iPhone Pros and iPad Pros to deliver an intuitive end-to-end room scanning, measurement, and estimate experience.

3D Product Visualization

For years we’ve been developing Lowe's 3D models for product visualization at Lowe's. These models power interactions that would otherwise be impossible, including augmented, virtual and mixed reality experiences.

Holoroom Project Visualization

One of the biggest challenges of undertaking home improvement projects is envisioning the result. To address this challenge, we have explored how virtual and mixed reality can help customers visualize their new space.
